Celebrate NSBE's Founders!
Commemorate the remarkable journey of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) with a candle crafted in honor of its visionary founders. Back in 1974, six extraordinary men—Edward Coleman, Anthony Harris, Brian Harris, Stanley L. Kirtley, John W. Logan Jr., and George Smith, known as the 'Chicago 6'—joined forces with their mentor, Dr. Arthur J. Bond, to establish NSBE's inaugural chapter at Purdue University. Now, as we celebrate NSBE's 50th anniversary, we marvel at its transformation into a thriving international community of over 25,000 members, each a testament to Black Engineering Excellence.
