1. What are NotUrAverage Candles made of?

NotUrAverage Candles are made of coconut wax.

2. What is not average about them?

NotUrAverage Candle prides itself on being sustainable, health conscious, and committed to promoting science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). All candles are made with environmentally friendly material and no phthalates. Each line will be based around a different STEM field expanding your knowledge from each candle. We also have some surprises in the works so stay tuned.

3. Are there any additives?

No. Each candle is phthalate and additive free. 

4. Should there be a weird pattern at the top layer of the candle?

No need to be alarmed. Because these candles are hand poured with no additives, blemishes like frosted sides and patterned tops can happen. After the first burn, the pattern will go away.

5. Can I reuse the containers?

Absolutely! As a part of our mission of sustainability, each container can be reused and repurposed. When the candle has burned to completion, you can remove the wick stem and any remaining wax using a paper towel. Wash, dry, and reuse. 

6. How long does the candle last?

This can vary. Check out each candle for burn time information. 

7. How long is shipping?

Processing time takes about 1-3 business days. Once shipped a tracking number will be provided. We use USPS two-day and UPS ground for shipping. 

8. Does tunneling occur with the candle?

Due to the nature of the wax we use, tunneling is very minimal. However if tunneling does occur, it can easily be fixed by using a hair dryer to melt the wax on the side and fill the hole.

9. What happens if the candle is smoking?

That is an indicator that the wick needs to be clipped. Check out the Candle Care page for more information.

10. Can I travel with NotUrAverage Candles?

Yes you can. Because the candles are solid wax you have no need to worry about TSA.
