Join us in commemorating 50 years of unparalleled Black Engineering Excellence with the National Society of Black Society. The year 2024 marks the grand kickoff of NSBE's Golden Year. Back in 1974, a visionary group of trailblazers, including Edward Coleman, Anthony Harris, Brian Harris, Stanley L. Kirtley, John W. Logan Jr., and George Smith, affectionately known as the 'Chicago Six,' alongside Purdue Engineering peers and the esteemed Professor Arthur J. Bond, Ph.D., ignited the inaugural chapter of what we now proudly call the Society of Black Engineers, setting the stage for the very first convention. By 1975, NSBE was officially incorporated as a national society. Fast forward through five decades of relentless dedication and innovation, and NSBE stands tall with a robust community of over 25,000 members, committed to nurturing the academic, professional, and communal triumphs of engineers across all levels. As we celebrate this remarkable milestone, immerse yourself in the essence of our society with a candle that encapsulates our journey - featuring luxurious notes of cashmere, berries, and sandalwood.
20% of the proceeds will go towards an engineering scholarship for NSBE members.
